Offer education and breed guidance and support in all areas of interest to Westie owners and enthusiasts including responsible dog ownership and health care.
Provide an atmosphere of long-lasting camaraderie and good cheer.
Conduct programs, seminars, field trips, fun matches, and appropriate activities for the benefit, education of Society members, Westies and Westie enthusiasts.
Do all in its power to protect the breed from exploitation, indiscriminate or irresponsible breeding, and overpopulation by encouraging spaying and/or neutering of pet quality Westies and by requiring that the serious breeders conduct themselves responsibly at all times.
Recognize and support all members' diversified interests from pet enjoyment to responsible breeding, exhibiting in conformation and obedience, earth-dog, tracking, agility, therapy, etc. and to expect all members to exemplify good conduct and sportsmanship at all times.
Require that all members accept the standard of the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club and to require that member / breeders promote quality and good health in their breeding practices.
These dates have been tentatively reserved for our meetings this year. Programs and locations will be announced in The Bagpiper.
