2002 Society Holiday Party and Auction
Once again the Society held another grand party! About 45 members and guests joined together at the Tiffany Room in Bristol, Connecticut to celebrate the holiday season. The room was decorated beautifully for the season and added to the festive occasion. Our co-chairs Christine Swingle and Sylvia Orr did a wonderful job with the preparations. Judy and Sylvia made wonderful favors for those present to take home; lovely candle holders with hand painted westies on them. Upon arrival we held a meet and greet which gave all present a chance to mingle and chat and start bidding on all the wonderful silent auction items. Once everyone had gathered, after a few announcements, the President announced the winner of the Annual President's Award. The most worthy recipient for 2002 was Lucy Ryley for all her tireless efforts in running our most successful Rescue Program. Lucy's dedication to Westie Rescue is evident in the smooth running of our program. We hope she will treasure the award and what it represents for many years to come!
Following the announcements, we all enjoyed a wonderful buffet, which was followed by our most enjoyable 5th annual auction. We were fortunate to have beautiful westie items donated by the members and a most enjoyable time was had by all as we were led through the rousing auction by professional auctioneer and member, George Welker. We were successful in adding over $1,000 to our Treasury. Thanks to everyone who participated and added to the holiday spirit.
